After the Thaw Begins

After several weeks of frigid temperatures and copious amounts of snow the thaw has begun.

However, instead of glorious sunshine and warm breezes melting the snow away it is steady rain and a thick haze. It doesn’t seem very beautiful, indeed it’s quite messy, but the snow is disappearing, the ground is showing itself and it is a welcome sight.

Often in life, following a season of cold and darkness, we look forward to a time of light and warmth. Our assumption may be the sun will break through, the way to renewal will be clearly seen and our lives will once again flourish.

Though this might be the case we must also be prepared for an extended thaw following a long, hard winter. Sometimes it takes a little while for our eyes to adjust, sometimes it can be quite messy, but sooner or later our feet will find the path to growth once again.
