It Still Hurts

Earlier today I was stripping contact paper out of the kitchen cabinets and using a small step ladder to reach the highest ones. The ladder isn’t the most sturdy foundation and my wife thought it best to find something more solid. I glibly remarked; “It’s cool, I’ve got health insurance!” To which she replied; “Insurance doesn’t mean it won’t hurt when you fall.”  A wise woman.

People often think grace and discipline don’t go together but the opposite is true. God’s grace is immeasurable but that doesn’t mean sin (ours or others), mistakes, poor choices, inaction can’t inflict pain and leave a permanent mark.

blessings,
