The Secret to Life
I need a cart with wheels to haul around the materials I use for helping dads and their families. Luckily I was able to locate one in a resource closet. The problem was there’s a combination lock on the lid of the cart. It is a three tumbler set so I began and 000 and then entered 001, 002 and so on. I kept waiting, hoping the clasp would flip open but the closer I got to 999 the more apprehensive I became. Finally I had entered every combination possible but to no avail. Sigh. The question now becomes do I scroll through the numbers again or try another, more forceful, approach.
Life has a way of not cooperating, not working out according to plan. We try what we think will unlock and release peace and purpose in our lives but the approach only leaves us closed off and frustrated.
The secret to life is there is no secret. Many claim to have the key to happiness and bliss but most often what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for another. What matters is that we keep seeking, hoping and not give up. Peace and purpose can be hard to get to but it’s worth the patience and the persistence.
