All Around Us

Balance. So hard to find in a world that’s always moving, changing, shifting, shoving, never a moments rest.

The other day I lost my balance trying to put on a pair of shorts. Actually, I was putting on shorts, slipping my feet into bedroom shoes and heading to the bathroom. I didn’t fall but it scared me enough to stop and slowly do one thing at a time.

One of the reasons we have a hard time keeping our balance is we try to do too many things and at the same time.

Contemplative thought tells us that all acts, every moment, each event of life can be worship. If we’re aware there are no insignificant days, hours or seconds, every breath is a blessing, each sight a masterpiece, sounds; a symphony.

Of course this can only be possible if our lives are in balance. Spirits, emotions, minds and bodies must be in harmony, lived slowly enough to notice the miracles which surround us everyday.
