Are We Willing?

I mowed the grass yesterday. November 14th, one day exactly before half of the month is over. Something seems wrong with trimming the verge this late in the year, yet for the second time in two weeks it needed to be done. I thought last time would be the last time but I was wrong, once again mistaken.

A friend told me they admired a virtue of mine the other day. I told them; “thank you“, I also said; “It’s been a hard lesson. I’ve had to learn, relearn, and learn again.”

Through difficult, heartbreaking, and life altering events I’ve received this gift which never would have developed otherwise. This “virtue” was wrapped in pain, hardship and humiliation.

Wisdom is willing to be the teacher if we are willing and can endure being the student.
