In the Dumps
In the Dumps –
Today, I made a trip to the county dump. As I sat there I began to notice the people who were in line ahead of me. There was a woman, casually dressed, emptying the bags out of her car. Another man was opening his hatchback, nicely dressed. There was a pick-up truck, a truck with a trailer all in line waiting to empty their trash into the dumpster.
It was interesting to watch these folks, from different backgrounds, races, perhaps religions, economic backgrounds, coming to one of the few places where they could get rid of their junk.
I reflected on the need for every person to be able to deposit the stuff we no longer need, the junk which clutters our lives, the rubbish that chokes our spirit. A place where the trash of this world can no longer fill up or stink up our lives.
blessings,
