My People

My People

There’s nothing like going to Walmart the week before Christmas and getting the masses all over you. You never know who or what you’ll see, hear, smell or spoken! Today the store and it’s clients were on full display. No one was exempt from the wave of madness this time of year brings.

I grabbed everything on my list and nothing more. I found the shortest line and still waited and waited. The lines of Walmart are the greatest equalizer. No matter your age, sex, place in society, income bracket, marital or political status, everyone picks a line to wait in and hopes they chose wisely.

I took several deep breaths as I stood in line. I reminded myself of people who are truly suffering and would trade places with me in a second. I cleared my head and remembered, these, yes all of these are my people.
